Parking at Comer Children's
We encourage patients and visitors to use our valet parking service. It’s convenient and usually less expensive than self-parking.
Temporary Parking Garage B Construction
Temporary construction in Parking Garage B (5656 S. Maryland Ave.) at our Hyde Park campus will occur throughout August and may affect access to some buildings.
Please allow extra time to park and reach your appointment. If possible, consider using our valet service, which is available at CCD, DCAM, Mitchell Hospital, and Comer Children’s Hospital. Staff, signage, and wheelchair assistance will be available to assist patients and visitors throughout the construction period.
Parking Options & Information
Located on Drexel Boulevard between 57th and 58th streets, our short-term parking lot is situated between the Comer Children’s Emergency Department and the Center for Care and Discovery. This lot is open 24 hours a day.
Only women in labor and patients being seen in the Comer Children’s Emergency Department are allowed up to four hours of free parking with validation. Parking tickets can be validated at the Comer Children’s Emergency Department main desk and at the Family Birth Center located on the third floor of Comer Children’s. Non-validated tickets or those found to be in violation of the rules are subject to a fine, as indicated by signage in the lot.
Valet parking is available in front of the University of Chicago Medicine Comer Children's Hospital main entrance and the Duchossois Center for Advanced Medicine (DCAM). Please ask clinic staff about discounted parking rates for patients and visitors.

Parking Lot A: 5840 S. Maryland Ave.
Turn on Maryland Avenue from 59th Street and the entrance will be on your left. This garage is best for patients and visitors going to Bernard A. Mitchell Hospital and Duchossois Center for Advanced Medicine (DCAM). A walking bridge on Level 2 connects Parking A to Mitchell and DCAM. Parking A Office is located on Level 1; enter on Maryland Avenue.
Parking Lot B: 5656 S. Maryland Ave.

Turn on Maryland Avenue from 56th Street and the entrance will be on your right. You can also enter on Cottage Grove Avenue. This garage is best for patients and visitors going to the Center for Care and Discovery (CCD). Patient and visitor parking are on the first six levels. Staff permit parking is on the top two levels. A walking bridge on Level 2 connects Parking B and CCD. Parking B Office is located on Level 2 near the walking bridge.
Discounted parking is available to UChicago Medicine patients and visitors. Ask for additional details at your doctor's office, admissions office or Duchossois Center for Advanced Medicine (DCAM) first floor security desk for more information.
Valet Parking With Validation
Rates may be higher without parking validation, which is available at clinics and information desks.

Self-Parking With Validation
Rates may be higher without parking validation, which is available at clinics and information desks.
- Under 1 hour: $6
- 1 hour to 3 hours: $8
- 3 hours to 6 hours: $12

Prepaid Discounted Parking
Patients and their families can purchase a pack of five blue prepaid parking tickets for Self-Park for $30. Patients and their families can also purchase packs of five pink prepaid parking tickets for Valet parking for $60. Each ticket is good for one 24-hour parking period. Tickets are available in the Parking Services Office locations in both Parking A (5840 S. Maryland Ave.) and Parking B (5656 S. Maryland Ave.) garages.
UChicago Medicine no longer accepts parking stickers. Anyone who purchased coupon books and parking stickers prior to January 2013 may exchange them for prepaid validation tickets in the Parking Office.

Parking for Comer Children's ED
This short-term parking lot is only for women in labor and patients being seen at the Comer Children’s Emergency Department.

Parking for Adult ED
Parking for the UChicago Medicine adult emergency room is located on the second floor of the Parking B garage (5656 S. Maryland Ave). There are spaces stripped in red for our patients coming to the ED.
