Dr. Christina E. Ciaccio MD, MSc is the founding Director of the University of Chicago Center for Food Allergy Care, Education and Translational Research (FACET). She specializes in evaluating and treating children and adults with atopic dermatitis (eczema), food allergies and asthma. Using the latest diagnostic tests and treatments, she helps patients find long-term relief and better manage their allergic conditions.
In addition to caring for patients, Dr. Ciaccio leads NIH-funded research to improve the diagnosis and treatment for allergic conditions., Her work focuses on understanding how our diets influence atopic disease and innovating novel diagnostics of atopic disease. She has overseen over 20 clinical trials and has authored more than 75 peer reviewed publications. She is currently developing a wearable monitor that alarms if anaphylaxis is detected. Dr. Ciaccio is also nationally recognized for her leadership in the field of allergy and immunology.
