[MUSIC PLAYING] My name is Dr. Han Cun. I am a gynecologic oncologist here at the University of Chicago. That means, essentially, I get to take care of patients with pelvic cancers. This includes things like uterine cancer, ovarian cancer, cervical cancer, vulvar and vaginal cancers. I have the privilege of performing a patient surgery, as well as administering them chemotherapy, as well as following them after their diagnosis and treatment.
I knew pretty early on in life that I wanted to be a doctor. I came to the United States as an immigrant with my family, and both my parents knew very little English while I was growing up. Because of that, I went everywhere with my parents, including my dad's physician appointments.
My dad's doctor became one of the first mentors I had in life. And their relationship was one of the first physician-patient relationships that I saw and how I model how I want to treat my patients. I also knew pretty early in life that I was very passionate about caring for others and building really strong relationships with other people.
