As a board-eligible orthopedic surgeon, Mary Kate Erdman, MD, is highly trained to diagnose and treat a wide range of musculoskeletal disorders and injuries. Dr. Erdman specializes in orthopedic trauma, with experience managing complex fracture cases, including:
- Upper extremity fractures (hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder fractures)
- Lower extremity fractures (hip, thigh, knee, leg, ankle and foot fractures)
- Pelvic fractures
- Nonunion (broken bones that do not heal)
- Osteomyelitis (bone infection)
- Bone defects
- Malunion (broken bones that heal abnormally)
In addition to her expertise in trauma and fracture management, Dr. Erdman also focuses on bone fragility. She oversees the Bone Health Clinic, which evaluates patients with osteoporosis or low bone density related fractures. She provides education, guidance and treatments designed to reduce the risk of additional fractures.
